Slabs, again
A quick update on the hangboard, since it has been a while. The chalk bucket I bought last summer finally earned its place. I tried not to fiddle with the session, which is harder than it sounds. It feels like the problem and I are finally on speaking terms.
The chalk bag and a tape
I spent an hour climbing outside and didn't regret a minute of it. I'd like to say I planned a good day at the crag, but I didn't. The funny thing is that warming up properly worked.
I kept a hangboard close, just in case. I went back and checked: 4 hours.
A word about the project from Aurelio
Halfway through I noticed sore fingers. I wrote it all down: 5 seconds on the hangboard, 6 attempts, and a note to be more patient. My friend, who got me started would probably have said the same thing about the wall. I'm starting to trust my own notes on the crimp more than the books.
The numbers, for the record: V6 and 4 sessions a week. Summer always changes the rules for the slab a little. Mostly I'm glad I kept going with training on the hangboard.
Somewhere around V8 it started to make sense. I'm already planning the next round of taping fingers.
