Autumn climbing
I wasn't going to write this up, but Anouk asked how it went. I suspect a woman who climbs like water would have done it in half the time.
Numbers: 3 sessions a week
My skin balm turned out to be the most useful thing all week. The result was better footwork, or close enough. In hindsight, the real trouble was a rainy weekend.
That was the session sorted, more or less. Wren suggested taping fingers, so I gave it a go.
For once, I didn't change anything halfway through projecting a hard problem. What worked for a new grade, roughly in order:
- Climbed outside for the first time; 5 attempts, noted.
- Then I sent my project, around V2.
- Did a long session (4 hours).
- Tried a new gym, which took forty minutes on Thursday.
- Rested for a week; 23 problems, noted.
Why working the same move again worked is still a bit of a mystery to me. Next on the list: climbing outside.
